Houzz Extends Scholarship Program to Skilled Trade Professionals

We’re excited to announce that the Houzz Scholarship Program is now open for Spring 2020 entries! Starting this semester, we’ve extended our program to include the ‘Skilled Trades Residential Construction Scholarship’ category for students pursuing trade certifications or Associate of Science degrees through vocational or community college programs, who plan to focus on residential construction and remodeling work professionally.

The new category expands our support for the next generation of residential design and architecture professionals, which also includes students studying architecture, interior design, landscape architecture or construction management.

Houzz awards five $2,500 scholarships biannually in the spring and fall, in the categories of ‘Women in Architecture’, ‘Residential Design’, ‘Sustainable Residential Design’, ‘Residential Construction Management’ and now, ‘Skilled Trades’.

Fall 2019 winners are:

– Women in Architecture: Madeleine Gillette (studying architecture at the University of Kansas)

– Residential Design: Oscar Caballero (studying architecture at Columbia University)

 – Sustainable Residential Design: Hugh Sanchez (studying architecture at The New School)

– Residential Construction Management: Alaa Mosin (studying construction management at Texas A&M University)
