Packing Powder Rooms with Personal Style

Our second annual U.S. Bathroom Trends Study, released this week, found that Houzzers who are updating their powder room see it as an opportunity to be bold and creative. In fact, twice as many of us seek to make a strong style statement with our powder rooms, versus our other bathrooms. And more than any other bathroom, powder room upgrades often stem from a recent inspiration that we’re looking to emulate. We’re much more likely to add some flair to these bathrooms, including wallpaper, signature sinks and eclectic styling.

As powder room updates tend to be cosmetic, we are 3x more likely to make updates to these rooms on our own, without the help of a pro, compared to master bath projects. The majority of us (65%) have budgeted less than $2,500 for the facelift.

Our powder rooms may be small – 63% are less than 40 sq. feet, compared to 62% of master baths that are over 70 sq. feet – but we want them to make a big style statement.
